- Violence shouldn't happen, and it certainly has no place in relationships. But too often, we end up with very unhealthy couples who hurt each other in various ways. Sometimes it's emotional, and sometimes it's psychological. Those may be touched on here, but the biggest focus of this section is going to be violent crimes.
Women are raised to be afraid of men because they either are victims more often or because they're seen as victims more often. You'll find very few women willing to go out after dark without a friend simply for that reason.
On the other side of that equation are all the men who are abused/raped and are too embarrassed to admit it ("You got beat up by a girl? Seriously?") or are considered too unsympathetic to society for it to matter.
The ideas here that hurt both sides are "women are weak" and "men are violent." These ideas need to be eliminated if we're going to get anywhere on this issue.
